Smartphones are evolving in a much faster way, where many
people did not expect to have this kind technology inside it. It’s becoming
like a super computer now, where almost want you want can be done through the
use of smartphone.
Seems that high-end smartphones will be into the virtual
reality, 4K home entertainment and PC docking while the low-cost smartphones
will have higher resolution display screens, much better graphics and a faster
wireless communication capabilities.
Here are the upcoming technology for the year 2016:
Excellent screen
displays
Seems that most high-end smartphones today have a resolution
of 2560 X 1440, which will result to a vivid and crisp display. A new kind of
display is emerging, the OLED display is much improved than Super-AMOLED in
which it will provide a more accurate color in the display of a smartphone.
Faster Chipsets
The upcoming smartphones will be faster and more power-efficient
chips inside. There is latest twist in
mobile processor called “stacked transistor”, will enable a smartphone
manufacturer to pack more feature into a smaller chips. Also, the advancement
in chip design will allow the smartphone to preserve more battery life than in
the previous years. Other smartphones today have low-power DDR4 memory, which
will boost higher application performance through faster internal date transfer.
Hardware improvements
and USB Type-C
Samsung’s pocket sized SSD T3, which have a storage capacity
of 2 Terabyte inside can be directly plug into any smartphones today. Also, a
new type of port for the smartphone called “USB Type-C” is being use by both
high-end and low-end smartphones. This new port will now solve the problem of
connecting the smartphones to any monitor and any external storage device.
Faster Graphics
Today’s smartphone are becoming anyone’s entertainment. A strong
graphics are coming for the smartphones to be use for virtual reality and 4K
entertainment. High-end smartphones are equipped with faster Qualcomm and ARM
GPU’s while low-end smartphone supports full high-definition video.
Faster wireless and
LTE connection
Many upcoming smartphones in Mobile World Congress 2016 to
be held in Barcelona, will have Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset that have a LTE
modem that can reach a download speed of 600Mbps and an upload speed of 150Mbps. This means that Maps and movies will load
much faster using a LTE connection. The Snapdragon 820 have a technology called
“ WiGig” which will make smartphones connect to a monitor and any docks. According
to Qualcomm; “WiGig “ is faster than the 802.11ac Wi-Fi.
Virtual reality
Virtual reality seems a futuristic term to be used in the
past but not anymore. Smartphones can now be use to roam the world of virtual
reality using a Google Cardboard holder or use a Samsung VR headset like
Samsung Gear VR. This year, we can now experience it in a much better way with
Lenovo and Google Project Tango handset, that will provided the user with rich
data on location, surrounding and information that will be laid to screen.
