News: LG confirms that they will not make Nexus-brand smartphone

Mobile World Congress 2016, in Barcelona are still on going, still people flooding on that event. LG is one of the company that unveiled their latest flagship smartphone, the G5. And the new LG G5 was a beast of a smartphone, with a powerful specs, new design and together with a new feature “Expansion slot”, a battery can remove or change and add new accessories for the smartphone.

LG is been a longtime maker of Nexus smartphones, this include the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, and Nexus 5X, which is been a popular smartphones. At MWC 2016, LG confirmed that they will not release another Nexus smartphone this year.

“LG is totally happy” with its relationship and its work on the Nexus phones, but the project requires a lot of resources that could be better put in its own phones”, according to the spokesperson of LG, based on the report of CNET. Also, LG is planning to bring back the LG Watch Urbane LTE 2nd Edition, this coming second half of this year. But, no specific details about it being mention.


In the recent rumor, Google is reportedly collaborate with HTC, the Taiwanese Tech Company to make this year’s Nexus smartphone. Also, HTC is expected to launch two Nexus-branded smartphones this year.
