MWC 2016: Xiaomi Mi5 finally been unveiled with 128GB storage and 3D Glass body


In just couple of hours ago, another flagship smartphone had just been unveiled at Mobile World Congress 2016. This new flagship smartphone is Xiaomi Mi5, which is the successor of their previous smartphone the Xiaomi Mi4. It’s been 18 long months since Xiaomi unveil their flagship smartphone. With this new flagship smartphone being unveiled, surely Xiaomi could with the likes of Samsung, LG and Apple.


Xiaomi Mi5 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. The internal storage of this new smartphone a staggering 128GB. For the battery, it have a 3000 mAh. The display is 5.5 inch Full HD, and “3D Glass” body, called by Xiaomi itself.

The camera, for the back is a 16-megapixel camera with Sony IMX298 sensor that can shoot a 4K video and has four axis optical image stabilization. Four axis OIS it detects shake in every direction. The front will have 4-megapixel camera.


Xiaomi Mi5 runs on MIUI interface together with latest Android Marshmallow.

For the design, Xiaomi Mi5 looks have similar design with last years’ Mi Note and Samsung Galaxy Note 5, with metal frame, a glass panel in the front and the back, and the finger print sensor is integrated at the home button.



Xiaomi Mi5 supports 4G+ - LTE Advanced – that could reach speed of up to 600 Mbps if the carrier will support those speeds. Also supports VoLTE (Voice over LTE) for any high quality calls.
The color for this new smartphone are available in white, gold and black.

Xiaomi Mi5 will available starting this March 1, with the price of $306 while the other version named Mi5 pro with ceramic back and a storage of 128GB will be available for $413.


Xiaomi Mi5 will surely compete with other flagship smartphone being unveiled at Mobile World Congress 2016, such Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5. But Xiaomi Mi5 seems to be lacking on features but with powerful specs on it and cheaper than those two, surely attracts many smartphone fanatics in Android.
