Samsung Galaxy S7 Active is not Water-Proof at all


Samsung’s current flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge were consider to be one of the best smartphone or the best smartphone available in the market today. This current smartphone powerful specs and some latest features. One of the feature it had was the water-resistant. Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge was graded IP68, means that this smartphone is allowed to be under water for 30 minutes with 5 feet in deep.

An American magazine, Consumer Reports had been supported by their subscribers to perform a rigorous testing to any consumer products, from a car to any appliances. And this time, they choose the Samsung Galaxy S7 series, if the claim about the truth about IP68.

During the test, Samsung Galaxy S7 Active (including other Galaxy 7) is rated for up to five feet for 30 minutes. They used a tank of water which is being placed under 2.12 PSI for 30 minutes, to test the claim of Samsung. Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, did not survive the test without any damage because of complications.

The water breached the device and in the front and back camera lenses fogs can be seen, including the device’s screen, and did not perform normally. And in the sim tray, water is also coming out.

However, Consumer Reports figured out that the device might be defective, and they decided to do the same test again. The result for the second phone, was also the same, water breached into the smartphone’s exterior yet again.

After this following test, Samsung is been contacted and now investigating about this problem. Consumer Reports said that both Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge performed the same test but it does not have any issues at all.

Because of this failure, Consumer Reports said “with this failure, we cannot recommend the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active”.
